About the art:

I’ve always had a fascination with fractals since art school. They’re so hypnotic and I love how they produce things similar to nature.

The three-dimensional fractal images are generated and rendered in a learning software called Mandelbulb 3D. The software combines several different non-linear algorithms together along with lighting and color effects. It’s up to the artist to go fractal hunting and find the perfect combination and composition of math equations. The results are typically known as fractal or math art. You can truly get lost for hours!

The mathematics behind two-dimensional fractals began to take shape as early as the 17th century. Three-dimensional fractals were just recently discovered in 2009. If you’d like to know more, check out this Wikipedia article on fractals. They’re so amazing!

About the materials:

The art is a giclee print and printed on 210 gsm cotton rag paper using pigment-based inks. The manufacturers of the products used claim a minimum lifespan of 100 years. Take care of your artwork and it will probably last a lot longer!

What is a giclee print?

A giclee print is the best way to produce archival reproductions of art and photography that will last a lifetime. The digital file of the artwork must be a minimum of 300 DPI. It’s then printed on high-quality archival acid-free paper. The inks are pigment-based instead of the standard dye-based you will find in most consumer printers. Giclee capable printers typically hold a minimum of 10 ink cartridges and produce a broader range of colors.

Care instructions:

Keep out of direct sunlight and very humid conditions. I recommend that you get a frame with glass that has UV protection. It will help your piece of art last a lot longer!

Please note:

The colors shown here are from actual photographs, but can only be used as a guide. Due to color differences between computer monitors – I Can Not Guarantee Color Accuracy.
